If you aren’t familiar with the significance of this day, “Ohi Day” commemorates the rejection by the Greek prime minister Ioannis Metaxas of the ultimatum presented to Greece by the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini on October 28, 1940. Mussolini threatened Metaxas with war unless Greece allowed Axis forces to enter Greek territory and occupy various locations. Following the rejection, a Hellenic counterattack against the invading Italian forces ensued, known as the Greco-Italian War, and this is exactly what “Coat Of Arms” was written about.
