Milunka Savić was a fierce female who wouldn’t take no for an answer, and that’s why we love her story.

She is one of the most decorated female soldiers of the Great War. Serving first in the Balkan Wars, this Serbian war heroin became a celebrity when she won the Karađorđe’s Star, the highest Serbian decoration, in 1914 and 1916. Those weren’t her only decorations either.
