Sabaton to play 20th anniversary show at Wacken Open Air

Where else should Sabaton play the show to mark their 20th anniversary as a band, but the most legendary heavy metal festival of them all?

Not only will Sabaton be headlining Wacken Open Air in August 2019, they will be taking the opportunity to celebrate 20 years since their formation with a not-to-be-missed anniversary show.

And the band’s milestone falls in the same year as the festival’s 30th anniversary, making this a very special occasion for those lucky enough to have a ticket for the sold-out festival.

Bass player Pär Sundström said: “Back in 1999, we could not have dreamed that Sabaton would still be making music and touring two decades later – there are very few bands who are able to do that.

“But even fewer bands get the opportunity to headline the world’s biggest heavy metal festival and play to one of the biggest and best crowds in the world.

“It’s important to us that we make this show our most memorable one yet, and we have some amazing ideas that we can’t wait to reveal…”
